Russell Simmons on Wealth

There is an inspirational video posted on Yahoo! Finance about how he sees wealth and attracting greater abundance into your life. He seems like a very downstream and spiritual individual, so I think that he can be a great inspiration for students of Abraham and the law of attraction.

Here is a highlight from an article accompanying the video:

"#2 Relentlessly Pursue Your Goals Without Appearing Needy
Simmons’ law of attraction says: 'when you chase things, they will always run from you.' " (link)
Chasing is taking the action journey, going upstream. You are trying to force it into your experience. But "wanted" is always downstream. You want to allow something into your experience, so you want to go downstream.
He explores the spiritual meaning of wealth in his book Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All. Based on his video and the back cover, it seems that he delves into the greater consciousness required to attain wealth.

How to Trust the Law of Attraction

This is really important as we need to trust that the law will work for us in order for it to do so. To fully allow something, we need to see, feel, and know deeply that it will manifest. We need to believe that it will happen. But how do we get there? When we have no experience or any other way of knowing that the law works? We just need to allow. That is all. Let yourself be comfortable and you will get there.

How Alignment Feels

Alignment will feel different depending on how much we value something. But the most common feeling underlying it all is great comfort in allowing. Once you feel REALLY comfortable with having your desire, then you know that you have come a long way and that it is on the horizon. Of course, the physical evidence will tell you whether you have FULLY allowed your desire, but you will know that you have come a long way when it feels REALLY comfortable.

Making Your Journey Quantifiable

Abe recommends that we use the emotional guidance scale to quantify our journey of allowing, but what I have found to be helpful is to identify the essence of what I want after I decide to allow it. Sanaya Roman gives a really lucid and clear description of what that essence is, the essence of our desire, in their book Creating Money. (See here for a review.) Basically, the essence of what we want is the higher quality(ies) that we want to realize through manifesting our desire. The desire for money can have the higher quality of freedom or power or abundance, etc. for us. The essence of our desire is the spiritual meaning it has for us basically. So the essence of money would be one or all of those things depending on what we valued.

When I want to discern the progress I am making on my journey of allowing, I start by focusing on the quality of my experience. I look for the emotions and higher qualities that I am experiencing so far. Do I feel greater relief? What kinds of emotions am I experiencing? What are the higher qualities experienced thus far? In essence, what is the quality of my experience? By looking at these questions, I am able to determine the kind of progress I am making. I know that ultimately, I need to get to the point consistently where I can see, feel, and know deeply that my desire will manifest in order to fully allow it.
